About Me
A Little about myself when I was growing up

I grew up in the Colorado Rocky
Mountains where I had access to our 450 acre ranch that backed up to the Pike
national forest, I spent at least 4 hours a day if not more riding every single
day. The first bike I had was a HUFFY (grin) at the age of 7, then I moved to
the mountains when I was 11 where I had a 3.5 HP brigs and straton mini-bike-
you know the ones, the ones that had no gears and no suspension, and a big steel
plate for the rear brake....

Soon enough I was the proud owner on a
1978 Honda ATC90 - Top speed of almost 45 mph down hill with it in 4th gear high
range... Look out! Again- No suspension and no front brake.

Then came my brother Bobs IT, oh yes
that was the first real motorcycle I had ever ridden, at age 14 I hopped onto a
1978  IT360 beast, for a little kid and even a grown up one, this is quite
a bike. I spent days racing along a field against the cars on the highway. and
if I wasnt doing that I was riding through the Platte river clear over the
handlebars.

Then came the day, my own ATC185S, the
power, the roar of the engine, it was like I had actually gotten an ATC worth
going fast on, and dont forget, those ATC185S vehicles have at least 3 inches of
spring travel in the front and... a front brake... But ... I still had my eyes
set on the ATC200X which had my name all over it when I lusted after them at the
Honda showroom. Withen about 6 months I happened accross a 1983 ATC200X at the
dealer and picked it up for , to achieve this I sold my 1983 ATC185 to my
Dad (nice guy buying his sons old 3 wheeler) and traded in my ATC90 for the
200X,,, From there I learned how to do things that most wouldnt think possible
on a 3 wheeler and never had a motorcycle ever keep up with me or lose me in the
woods. My favorite trick was to race along at 50mph, grab the front brake, push
the rear end out and grab the clutch, this flipped me around backwards and now I
was coasting at about 40 or so backwards on the bike,,, I would downshift to 2nd
gear and lean all the way forward as I ripped the back tires loose,,, Then I
would bring the ATC into a reverse sliding wheelie then up onto one tire when I
finally came to a stop (tires still spinning) and lean to one side,, the ATC
would tip onto one back wheel and I would do about 1 or 2 360s before setting it
down and racing away... Oh the days of being a bone head

When I turned 16 in 1986 I got my 1981 Honda (factory left over) new CB750K steet bike,
this was a great bike and still is running strong
today. I sold it to a friend of mine who rides this to work every day.
My sights were set on the Honda
VF Interceptor since I was 13 and saw them in the
Honda showroom. I swore Id have one some day.

Now that Im 32 I have a few toys, I did indeed get
my Honda VFR700 (aimed for the VFR750 but this is
a good bike). I got an 85 ATX200X again because it
was such a good ride, and also have a real dirt
bike, My YZ250.
